Financial Plans & Annual Budgeting

The Financial Year for municipalities runs from the 1st of April, to the 31st of March.

Budgets/Financial Plans for the following year must be adopted, after discussion in a public meeting of Council, before the end of the previous financial year (end of March).

After the close of a Financial Year, an audit must take place, and the audited statements must be adopted by Council before the end of September. Audited Financial Statements for the previous financial year must be submitted to the province by the 15th of October, and must be published here (see the bottom of the page) by the end of October.
